Life is busy. Between work, family, and everything else, many of us simply don't have the time to commit to hours of phone banking or weekend canvassing. But with the election just over two weeks away, every single personal action counts.

Tomorrow, the No Kings Rallies are happening across the world!!! With more than 2,600 rallies including at least 18 in foreign countries, they anticipate this will be the largest gathering in the history of the US.

The Belmont Democratic Club needs your help to ensure a strong Democratic turnout! Our primary goal is simple: we want to make sure every Democrat in Belmont votes.

With Election Day just around the corner, visibility is everything. One of the simplest yet most powerful ways to support our local Democratic candidates is by planting a yard sign where passersby can see it every day.

Back to School Night (BTSN) is one of our most exciting and impactful volunteer events! It's a fantastic opportunity to connect with voters and share our candidates' vision in a fun and fast-paced setting. We've found that most parents absolutely love our calendars! Our calendars are a great way to spread the word and make a positive impression!

On July 4th, I found myself reflecting on the founding of our country. What are the self-evident truths that still shape our democracy today? What do they mean in this moment—when freedoms feel both enduring and under pressure? This thoughtful piece from Telos and Judge J. Michael Luttig explores those foundational truths and reminds us what’s at stake, and what’s worth protecting.

The bill now heads back to the House, where Republicans can only afford to lose three votes. It barely squeaked by with a single-vote margin the first time, and it’s only gotten more divisive since.

The primary will be a Democratic race to determine nominees for lieutenant governor and attorney general. All registered voters can vote in the primary election, as Virginia does not register voters by party.

As we look ahead, the elections happening this year in Virginia are more than just local contests—they’re national bellwethers. Alongside New Jersey, Virginia will offer an early glimpse into voter energy and Democratic momentum heading into the next midterms. These races give us an important opportunity to help turn the tide and restore our democracy.

On April 5, I attended my very first protest, the Hands Off rally in Leesburg, Virginia. The rally was one of 1,400 protests held on April 5 across all 50 states with “millions” in attendance. Like many people, I’ve been feeling overwhelmed and more than a little helpless watching rights being stripped away and democratic norms eroded. I knew I needed to do something—anything—to feel less powerless. That’s what drove me to show up.

On March 27, over 150 passionate people packed the Belmont Country Ballroom in a show of unity and determination to elect Virginia’s next Democratic governor, Abigail Spanberger. The energy in the room was electric as members of the Belmont Dems, River Creek Dems, Ashburn Dems, the Loudoun Democratic Committee, and other dedicated supporters came together to rally behind the values that define our movement.

This Thursday, we’re bringing together passionate Democrats who are ready to take action. We’re making incredible strides—but we need your help to go even further.

A packed event will send a clear message: we are ready to elect leaders who will fight for our values in Virginia and Washington. This is our moment to stand behind Abigail Spanberger and show the undeniable strength of our movement.

The 2026 election may seem far away, but the work to secure a Democratic victory starts right now! With both chambers of the Virginia legislature already under our leadership, we’ve proven that progress is within reach—but we can’t afford to slow down.
